Spinal Tensions
When deep layers of tension build up
around the base of the spine, it becomes tight
and inflexible. This can lead to a host of ailments, including acute
and chronic back
pain, various health conditions, low energy, and a decreased feeling
of well-being.
Stresses and strains of modern living, overwork, excessive exercise,
past traumas,
and chronic negative thinking, can all be contributing factors to
the build up of these
core tensions.
It all starts at the tailbone. When
the spine is stressed in any way, it can cause the
tailbone to tuck under, or pull to either side. Mental tensions are
often a significant
factor in repetitive tailbone tightening. This often continues as
an undetected pattern
until tensions develop further into the spine, resulting in physical
pain or a specific
health condition. For various reasons, including mental tensions,
physical misalignment,
and/orover-compensating for low back tightness, tensions continue
to develop and climb
the upper spine, affecting the neck and shoulders.
Essentially,
the spine is the central axis of one's body,
and affects all aspects of its physical functioning and health.
Aside from acute and chronic backache, a tight spine can
lead to all sorts of physical disturbances of the body.
Likewise, an open flexible spine lends itself to a healthy
happy body.
Moreover, the quality of our spine truly affects one's whole
being, reaching into all dimensions of our physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual health.
